What Are You Thinking?

What you SAY and what you THINK matters to God. (Psalm 19:14). Above all else, guard your heart, because it controls your ACTIONS. (Proverbs 4:23). Whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. (Matthew 15:18)

The Takeaway: Stinking thinking can take your life in a negative direction. It will be seen in your actions and heard in your words.

The Prevention: Guard your heart by renewing your mind. In other words, change HOW you think (Romans 12:2)

The How: EXPOSURE!!!! Guard the Who, Where, and What you expose yourself to.

Going Through The Motions

My phone connected to my car like usual, and the podcast I had listened to last begin playing through the speakers. I saw my charging cord and thought, why not get a little more charge to my phone on the way to work. So, I connected my phone to the cord. When I arrived at work and disconnected my phone from the charging cord, I noticed it had not charged at all. Weird!

Not weird, once I realized that my charging cord had not been connected to the charging port. I had simply gone through the motions; expected powerful results without being connected to the power source.

This is how we live life sometimes. We go through the motions, but until we are truly plugged into The Source of Life, we will never have powerful living! God wants us to recharge our batteries, and remain connected with Him.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Have you ever felt disconnected from God? It isn’t because He has changed addresses or moved away from us. It is because we are not connecting with Him. It is never too late to pick up where you left off. Take a moment to charge your spiritual battery. God is waiting.

Are you Tuned In? Are You Listening?

I got in my car on the way to work, and turned on the radio to FM. Nothing. Okay?? My display clearly stated that I was receiving radio signals from the station, but no sound. Hmmmmm. Scratching my head, I discovered that my AM stations worked fine. Hmmmmmm. Scratching my head again, I tuned back to FM, and cut the volume up as high as it would go. Faintly, I could hear the whispers of the talk radio show. Oh boy! Long story short, the FM relay wire is damaged and needs replacing.

Point is, there was nothing wrong with the Radio station or it’s signal. There was something wrong with my reception. That’s how it is with us, God is speaking (sending out the signal), will we receive it!

God speaks to ALL of us, regardless of our “spiritual status” in life!

His speaking to us has absolutely nothing to do with whether I read my Bible once or a thousand times, and absolutely nothing to do with the faithfulness of my church attendance. It isn’t about  whether I’m deserving.

But it has everything to do with the fact that God loves us…..He loved us so much that HE paid our sin’s debt SO THAT we could live an abundant, joy-filled life (John 10:10), full of all the good plans that God has for us (Jeremiah 29:11).

Now that you know He’s speaking to you……..will you tune in?

He speaks to us because He loves us. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.
